Bolt Action Tournament
February 10, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 6:30 pm
Bolt Action Tournament Guidelines: February 10, 2018. Little Wars Baton Rouge.
Store opens at 9:30. Play begins at 10AM SHARP!
Rules are Bolt Action 2nd Edition as written with official published errata.
No house rules.
Each player will be allowed a 1250 pt army list but will only play with 1000 points worth of that list in any given game. This allows some degree of change from game to game. The fielded army must meet platoon min/max standards.
One infantry platoon. No multi-platoon or armor platoon lists.
Army list must come from a Bolt Action Army list book. (the Chinese lists in the Empires in Flames book are allowed)
Only the generic platoon selector is allowed – no theater selectors.
No special characters allowed.
Only one infantry squad may have a flamethrower, vehicle FT’s as per lists.
WYSIWYG – Special weapons must be depicted on figures (panzerfauste, smg, etc.)
All figures must be painted in at least 3 historically accurate colors. We will allow for newbies with WIP armies. (We know who they are.)
No order dice limit.
All OB’s submitted at least one week early will be allowed a single re-roll of a single die during the first round of play. (by midnight of previous Friday)
Please try to submit a reasonable list. We know some lists are open to abuse so don’t be “that guy”.
Bring two printed copies of your list. One for the umpire and one for you.
(I will not accept handwritten scrawl so don’t even go there!)
BYO measuring device, dice, order dice and dice bag. Spare order dice will be available if two players have the same colors. (Van will gladly sell you more.)
We will play 3 rounds of 2 1/2 hours each. 30-minute breaks in between. In the first round will match out-of-town players against in town players.
First round will also match Allies vs Axis as possible.
In subsequent rounds, players will be paired off based on cumulative scores.
Players should arrive no later than 9:45 for a prompt start.
Scenarios will be chosen before play by the understanding and kind non-playing ref. (Bill the Surly) There will also be variables that will change from round to round that will be announced prior to start of play.
“Calculating Victory By Attrition” rules on page 132 of BA V2 are in effect.
Terrain and pre-set tables provided. Anyone showing up with cool terrain early enough to set it up is certainly welcome to do so. Tables are 4’x 6′.
Non-playing ref provided.
All decisions by the ref are binding even if contradicted by current practice, rules or errata. If you don’t want to run the risk of getting a bad decision, throw a dice to decide the issue and get on with the game.
Prizes awarded – 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, best-painted army (as chosen by shop owner Van) Numerous door prizes given to anyone still there when we are all done – randomly drawn in the manner of a “white elephant” game.
$10 entry fee which goes to prizes in the form of Little Wars gift certificates.
Local facilities for food and refreshment nearby. Little Wars has snacks/drinks.
The tournament is only 1 day but the store is open all weekend until late so additional friendly games can be played late into Saturday night or even on Sunday. The Baton Rouge Society of Miniatures Gamers meets on Friday night so we will be there as well.
